“Created for Mental Health Awareness Month, this mural invites passersby to look up and return to the present moment.
It offers a pause in the rush of the everyday — a moment of stillness in the middle of the city.
The colours and shapes are expressed in an abstract style, allowing each viewer to interpret the work for themselves and find personal meaning within it. Together, they act as a visual symbol of presence, strength, connection, and hope.
It represents an appreciation of life, using symbolism as a visual depiction of strength, resilience, and transformation of perspective, with an aim to spark meaningful dialogue about mental health, encouraging compassion and understanding. This piece is a testament to the power of creativity as a tool for connection and community.
At the heart of the mural is the message:
“It’s a privilege to be on earth at the same time as you — I’m so happy you’re here.”
This line reminds us that our existence matters — and that even in quiet moments, we are seen, valued, and never truly alone.
Wanting to expand the impact of the project beyond the wall itself, I’ve donated to SMART, a Chelsea-based charity that offers mental health rehabilitation and life skills training. Their work aligns deeply with the mural’s purpose: to support people on their journey toward stability, confidence, and community.
This mural is a space to be present. A celebration of the quiet strength it takes to simply be here. And a gentle reminder — in a world that can often feel divided — that your presence matters”
