Get ready for a show full of thrilling new experiences. This year’s Chelsea Flower Show boasts several unique features, including the very first wheelchair-accessible garden, Horatio’s Garden, designed by Charlotte Harris and Hugo Bugg of Harris Bugg for charity.
Prepare to be dazzled by this incredible display of the healing power of plants, paying homage to its future permanent home at the Princess Royal Spinal Injuries Centre in Sheffield, featuring planting influenced by the flora of Sheffield’s wooded valleys.
Let’s not forget the new species of plants making their debut this year! Raymond J. Evison’s groundbreaking new species of Clematis, named ‘Tumaini,’ and Darren Everest Dahlias’ two new sweet peas, ‘Lizanne Davies’ and ‘Dawn Everest,’ are a sight to behold.
And that’s not all – get ready for the world’s first insect laboratory to be showcased in The Royal Entomological Society garden, designed by the talented Tom Massey. The laboratory will study insect numbers visiting the garden during the show and project magnified images of these insects onto screens around the garden, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the biodiversity created by planting.
Prepare to be captivated by an array of exceptional show gardens, including those designed by the talented House & Garden Rising Star 2022, Charlie Hawkes. This year, Hawkes has designed a garden in collaboration with The National Brain Appeal and Project Giving Back, which has been created for the enjoyment and respite of those suffering from dementia. Featuring a simple layout designed for quiet exploration and bursts of colour surrounding its three seating areas, this garden is sure to be a feast for the senses.
Enjoy a dish from the delectable menus curated by the famous chef and writer Skye Gyngell, designed to call upon fresh ingredients with each day focusing on a different herb. Indulge in the taste of Chelsea surrounded by the beautiful herb garden, which guests are also welcome to explore and forage from.
