Yan Skates

A word from the artist

“When Sarah Farrugia passed away we wanted to honour her memory. Sarah had been, among other things a real champion for local artists in Chelsea so we thought she would really enjoy something created especially for her.

We commissioned an artist called Yan Skates to do a botanical installation called Our Best Friend The Dog. The sculpture sat between two benches on the King’s Road where people were able to sit next to him enjoy his humour and marvel at how cleverly he had been put together with discarded materials and living plants.

Our Best Friend sat at the curve for three months and had many admiring visitors before he was taken down.”
