Skating In Chelsea Park

Skating on Chelsea Park

This season’s mural next to Chelsea Fire Station depicts the fun and enjoyment of skating in Chelsea Park. The Sloane Stanley Estate dates back to 1717 and was originally known as Chelsea Park. Back then it was parkland with very few buildings, however even then, it was bounded by King’s Road and Fulham Road. The artwork is the latest in seven murals that have been commissioned over the past two years. We have funded the project since its inception, seeing it as a contribution to the local artistic and creative community. Many of the featured artists have been members of Chelsea Arts Club and locally based. We have also received a number of approaches by others and we welcome new ideas for the street scene. We have enjoyed the varied community projects displayed by local schools and organisations in the window space.
